Internships, Projects and Jobs!!!

Hey guys!

Time for some really interesting information to be shared, maybe one of the most sought after information when it comes to University selection – “Career!”.

Student and Career Growth!

Every major university organizes some company fair where companies get to interact with prospective candidates and future employees, and students get to know more about companies, the work they do and opportunities available. TU Delft is no exception to this, in fact, the only exception would be the success of such event, as here is exceptionally successful! There are many such fairs organized every year, but I will keep my focus on the major events for EEMCS department at TU Delft – “EEMCS Recruitment Days” and “De Delftse Bedrijvendagen”.

EEMCS Recruitment Days

This event was held almost exclusively for the EEMCS department, starting with session on Interview and CV preparation on 18th January, leading up to interviews with companies scheduled for 19th to 23rd March. Almost 50 companies are participating in this year’s event, each providing opportunities for either Internship or Graduation/Thesis Project of a full time employment. Big international firms such as Accenture, Capgemini, Optiver, Flow Traders and AWS are among the most commonly recognized names, and many more giant companies and startups.

More information about the event can be found at EEMCS website. How this event works? Well, it’s similar to DDB or “De Delftse Bedrijvendagen”, so let me tell about DDB first and then will discuss about how it works.

“De Delftse Bedrijvendagen”

De Delftse Bedrijvendagen De Delftse Bedrijvendagen

This event was held for almost entire TU Delft, starting with Application Training Days from 13th to 15th February, followed by presentation days from 19th to 21st February, leading up to In-house days scheduled from 14th to 29th March and finally interviews with companies scheduled for 14th to 25th May. Almost 150 companies are participating in this year’s event, each providing opportunities for either Internship or Graduation/Thesis Project of a full time employment. Big international firms such as Accenture, Airbus, Bosch, CERN, KLM and Phillips are among the most commonly recognized names, and many more giant companies and startups.

Presentations Days are the days when companies come to University campus and setup their booths and/or give presentations, providing information about the organization and possible opportunities or simply interacting with curious students. In-house days are the days when students get to visit the companies and get a first-hand experience of life in the organization and some insights into the actual work that is being done.

How it Works???

Both the events require students to upload actual and anonymous CVs. Anonymous CVs are sent to the participating companies to ensure there is no bias in selection and is completely based on individual merit and suitability for the the company’s requirement. Students are required to select the companies they are interested in and if companies also select them, it’s a match in making! Both parties get to meet each other and discuss the future. In some cases, even though students do not select some company, they still end up with a meeting with them if company selects them, which leads to a fruitful meeting.
